Paleolithic and Neolithic Ages The Neolithic Age changed the way people live now a days for many reasons. First of all, in this era agriculture was very important. People could farm instead of hunting and gathering and also they could settle down in one place. People also began to live in small communities. Settling down in one place meant more food and free time. This started trade because there were food surpluses and began the first forms of government. There were many things to be done so they divided work up among everyone in the small community.This was the very beginning of the way we live today. The Paleolithic Age is the Old Stone Age ending in 1200 B. C. E. were stone tools were used for hunting and gathering. People used tools such as clubs and choppers to crack open bones. Tools in this era were mainly made to use for shelter, defense, and keepings of food and clothing. These people believed in an afterlife which was similar to actual life on Earth because they were provi ded with all the tools, weapons and necessities needed to survive which was stated in document 1.In this age scholars believed that their ancestors lived in a world of spirits and shown in document 2 these people were hunters. The Neolithic Age is the New Stone Age between 8000 and 5000 B. C. E. were the adaptation of sedentary agriculture occurred and were domestication of plants and animals occurred. This is the era where people began to develop social groups and create civilizations and stop moving from place to place. Stated in the document 4 people began to depend more on animals and less on plants.They followed herds of animals instead of just one to get more food and eventually create a surplus. The animals that they herded gave them the fertilizer for agriculture. In document 5 it says that there were settled farming communities and they began to create a council to make decisions on what to harvest. Settled people had more personal property. These differences were so import ant because of the technology and ways of life that these people started to create.If the people from the Paleolithic and Neolithic ages didn’t discover the things that they did our world today would be totally different. There are many possibilities on what our life would be like today if these people didn’t start a foundation for us. In conclusion, as you can see the Neolithic age changed how we live greatly. They started the first forms of agriculture and created small communities of people. People settled in one place and began to trade for work. Children interaction is different depending on whether is a girl or a boy. Gender segregation is mostly influenced by expression of social interactions mainly during preschool activities. Cognition on play partners on children correlates with preferences of play partners. Social cognition accounts for changes in age in sex segregation (Martin, 1999, p. 751). Different interactive styles of children of different genders This examines individual variations in child pretense play and expression emerging mental representation. Children develop different interactive styles which are to some level at odds. Boys and girls react differently to situations with boys being more resistant and avoidance than girls (Martin, 1999, p. 755). There is a gender gap in the interactive styles among children. Child solitary play child are initiated y their mothers with maternal demonstration and solicitation. Boys mostly prefer cars and trucks while girls prefer dolls. Differences among individuals in different gender are attributed to their choices but the differences are mainly as a result of gender conditioning. Ensure that stopper holes are appropriately sized and carefully insert tubing by gently twisting back and forth. When cutting a piece of glass tubing, score a line using a file or equivalent. Wrap a cloth or paper towel around the tubing and break at the score over a piece of cloth/paper to catch any pieces. Centrifuges Most hazards associated with centrifuges are due to the processing of hazardous materials and poor mechanical conditions.   Ensure centrifuges have an interlocking device that will prevent both the lid from being opened when the rotor is in motion and the centrifuge from starting when the lid is open.   Inspect the centrifuge tubes prior to use for stress lines, hairline cracks and chipped rims. Ensure the centrifuge is properly balanced. Load the rotor with samples arranged symmetrically. Opposing tubes must be of equal weight. If necessary, use â€Å"water blank† tubes to balance sample tubes of unequal weight. Avoid over†filling the tubes. Use caps or stoppers on centrifuge tubes. Avoid using lightweight materials such as aluminum foil as caps. Do not open the lid during or immediately after operation, attempt to stop a spinning rotor by hand or with an object, or interfere with the interlock safety device. Decant supernatants carefully and avoid vigorous shaking when re†suspending. Never exceed the specified speed limitations of the rotor. Inspect the O†ring on the rotor lid regularly and replace if cracked or dry. Never operate a centrifuge if the rotor lid is missing its O†ring. Do not leave the centrifuge until it has reached its programmed speed. Decontaminate the outside of the cups/buckets and rotors before and after centrifugation. Unless fitted with a suitable exhaust system, do not centrifuge materials capable of creating flammable or explosive vapors. Immediately abort the run if you  hear abnormal vibration, whining or grinding noises. At the end of the run, ensure the rotor and centrifuge are cleaned according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Rotors are easily damaged. Do not use metal tools to remove tubes or clean. Do not attempt to move the centrifuge while it is in operation. Gas Burners All laboratory workers using gas burners shall follow these  guidelines: Place the burner away from any overhead shelving or equipment. Remove all papers, notebooks, combustible materials and containers of flammable chemicals from the area surrounding the burner. Tie†back long hair, remove dangling jewelry and secure any loose clothing. Inspect the rubber tubing for cracks, holes, or other defects and ensure that the hose is securely connected on the gas valve and the burner. Report any damage to the laboratory supervisor and replace any defective parts. Inform others in the laboratory that the burner will be in use. Use a burner sparker to ignite the gas burner. Never use a match or cigarette lighter to ignite a burner. Hold the sparker above the burner before turning on the gas and ignite immediately after opening the gas valve. Adjust the flame by turning the collar to regulate airflow and produce an appropriate flame. Do not leave open flames unattended. Never leave the laboratory while the burner is on. Turn off the gas when the burner is no longer needed. Ensure the main laboratory gas valve is off before leaving the laboratory. Regularly inspect all gas valves in the laboratory to ensure they are completely shut off. Heating and Cooling Glassware Check with the glassware manufacturer to determine safe temperature usage. Most glassware can only be exposed to certain high and low temperatures. Usage outside of those ranges may cause damage or breakage to the glassware. Always watch evaporation closely. A vessel, heated after evaporation has already occurred, may crack. Do not put hot glassware on cold or wet surfaces as it may break with temperature change. Never heat glassware that is etched, cracked, chipped, nicked or scratched. Glassware with thick walls (e.g. bottles and jars) should never be heated over a direct flame. Additionally, do not heat glassware directly on electrical heating elements. Do not look down into a vessel being heated. Cool all glassware slowly to prevent breakage, unless using specifically designed glassware. Use care when removing glassware from ultra-low temperature freezers (-70 to -150 C) to prevent thermal shock and cracking. For best results, immediately rinse the entire bottle under cold running water until thawing begins. Never place bottles directly from the freezer into warm water baths. When using a Bunsen burner, the flam should touch the glass below the liquid level. A ceramic-centered wire gauze will diffuse the burner flame to provide more even heat. Always use hotplates that are larger than the bottom of the vessel being heated. Thick-walled glassware (e.g. jars, bottles, cylinders, and filter flasks) should never be heated on hot plates. When using a hot/stir plate, ensure that only the settings necessary are activated (i.e. if you do not intend to heat, ensure the hot plate is NOT turned on. Cleaning and Drying Glassware Good lab technique necessitates the use of clean glassware. Glass must be physically clean, chemically clean, an in many cases, sterile. Many glassware accidents occur during cleaning. Some reminders when washing and drying glassware. Eye protection and heavy-duty slip-resistant and chemically resistant gloves should be worn when washing glassware. Wash glassware as quickly as possible after use. The longer it is left unwashed, the harder it will be to clean. If necessary, allow harder to clean apparatus to soak in soapy water. Do not overload sinks, dishwashers, or soaking bins. Keep glassware clear of the sides of the sink. Rubber sink and counter mats can also help reduce the risk of breakage and injury. Never use worn out cleaning brushes; they can scratch or abrade the glass. Specialized training in the safe usage of caustic cleaning agents must be completed before using aqua-regia, chromic acid or other reactive solutions to clean glassware. When drying glassware, place articles on towels, lined basket, or slip-resistant pads. Be sure to place away from the edge of the bench. Large containers may be hung on pegs to dry. When cleaning pipettes, place  pipettes, tips down, into a cylinder or tall jar of water or appropriate disinfectant (e.g. for biologically contaminated tips). A pad of cotton or glass wool at the bottom will help prevent breakage of the tips. Ensure the water or disinfectant level is high enough to immerse the pipettes. New glassware should be washed before use to remove any residue or loose particles. Disposal and Spill Clean-up Spills and Broken Glass Glass is fragile and breaks easily. When glass breaks, care should be taken to reduce the risk of cuts. If something is falling, let it drop! Catching it may cause the glassware to break in your hand. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling broken glass. Disposal nitrile or latex gloves should NEVER be worn. Glass will cut through those gloves. When cleaning broken glass, use mechanical means to pick up the pieces. Tongs, tweezers, or forceps should be used to pick up large pieces of broken glass. Small shards can be picked up using a wet paper towel or absorbent pad or by using rolled-up tape. Disposal Proper disposal ensure that others aren’t injured by improperly disposed of broken glass. Contaminated broken glass Place in rigid, puncture-resistant container (e.g. sharps container). For biologically contaminated broken glass, closed and sealed container should be placed in bio hazardous waste box for disposal. Instructions for OpenStack OpenStack is an arrangement of free and open-source software tools that is utilized for controlling substantial pool of compute, storage and networking resources managed through a datacenter which is overseen through a dashboard that gives head control while permitting their clients to spare assets through a web interface. Since OpenStack is overseeing distributed computing platform for both public and private cloud, it is supported by a portion of the greatest organizations and also a large number of individual group individuals. For creating an instance in OpenStack we need to use the URL cloud.ncirl.ie. To access the cloud compentency centre there is an option for OpenStack. We need to click on that option. A login page will appear where the Domain name is ncirl, we need to put login details like username and password. After login we can check the Instances, VCPUs, RAM, Floating IPs, Security groups, Volume and Volume storage etc. if any previous instances is there we can also check those. In order to create an OpenStack Instances we need to create Key pair. To create key pair we need to select Project à ¢Ã¢â‚¬  Ã¢â‚¬â„¢Compute. In Compute options like Overview, Instances, Volumes, Images and Access Security. In Access Security we choose the second option Key Pairs. In Key Pairs there is an option create key pair, we have to choose that option. Inside create key pair we have to enter the desired key pair name and click on the option Create key pair. A .pem file will be downloaded to the system, which is used to login to instance using putty. The second step is to click on instances à ¢Ã¢â‚¬  Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ Launch instance then a pop up appears where we have to put an instance name. Available zone is nova and count should be 1. We need to select the source for the instance, we select boot source as image and the required operating system can be Ubuntu 14.04. Now we need to select the Flavor, the required flavor is m1.large. In network tab we select private_default. We dont have to make any changes in network port. In security group tab we select default and http-8080. In key pair we have to select the key pair which was created earlier. In configuration tab we have to paste the shell script for cloud from: https://docs.openstack.org/developer/devstack/guides/single-vm.html. Now on clicking the launch instance an instance will be created. Now we have to associate a floating point IP to the instance so that it can be accessed from outside the cloud. The third step is to go to Puttygen and load the .pem file to generate a .pkk file to access the created instance by windows operating system. Now go to Putty and paste the floating IP in the host name bar and then we add the private key which is .pkk which was earlier generated using Puttygen, now click open. I command prompt will appear to the created instance where login details is required like username and password. The username is Ubuntu and password is password. After login we have to verify whether the username is stack or not by using the command line cd ~/../stack. Now we have to check whether the script got completed by using tail/var/log/cloud-init-output.log. The final step is to open the browser and type the floating IP associated to the instance in the address bar. An OpenStack dashboard will appear where we have to input the username as admin and password as password. Personal experience while creating instances in OpenStack While creating key pair I saved the .pem file on my local folder in my system. While generating instance, I faced a problem of getting three IP address on the same instance. I tried for three times each time deleting the previous instance and creating a new one, finally got a single IP on the third try. To make instance visible and for usage we need a floating IP address, but due to limited floating IP it was very difficult to get an IP for my instance. In Puttygen I had to load the .pem file and generate .pkk file which is a private key for windows user. Then after I had to open the putty and type the floating IP address in Host Name session. After that I had to prompt .pkk file from Auth inside SSH.The other issue was after creating .pkk file I was not able to access the command prompt for instance, then by getting guidance from Dr. Ralf Beirig in lecture and only then I was able to overcome this issue. After accessing into cloud I checked the user stack by giving commond line   cd ~/../stack to check whether stack is present or not in home folder then I gave command line of tail /var/logs/cloud-init-output.log to show the status of current script. In the URL, I pasted my floating IP and could access the OpenStack horizon by entering username as admin and password as password.

In parasite-host relationships most commonly the parasite is smaller than the host. This would explain why many parasites can feed off of one single host. Another difference in parasite-host relationships is that normally the parasite or group of parasites do not kill the host from feeding, whereas a predator will kill it’ s prey(1983). Efficient parasites will not kill their host at least until their own life cycle has been completed(1973). The ideal situation for a parasite is one in which the host animal can live for a long enough time for the parasite to reproduce several times(Arms 1987). Parasites fall under two different categories according to where on the host they live. Endoparasites are usually the smaller parasites and tend to live inside of the host(1973).
